Goal 1 Objectives

Goal Statement: Create an open and transparent environment that facilitates faculty and staff development for career advancement and embraces and promotes equity in roles, workload and responsibilities. 

  • Objective 1: Raise awareness of and encourage all staff to participate in professional development opportunities internal and external to the university.
  • Objective 2: Offer financial support for professional development opportunities
  • Objective 3: All junior faculty to participate in at least one faculty mentoring program
  • Objective 4: Establish mentoring support for mid-career faculty at the associate professor-level.
  • Objective 5: Establish ongoing opportunities for faculty and staff to provide insight to and receive feedback from department leaders. 
  • Objective 6: Enhance employee recognition and develop communication plan to enhance visibility of department achievements within the school. 
  • Objective 7: Establish procedures for equitable distribution of faculty service obligations. 
Goal 2 Objectives

Goal Statement: Improve interaction and integration among students, staff, faculty and alumni to advance students' diverse career opportunities. 

  • Objective 1: Enhance faculty and student relationships to better facilitate dissertation and essay requirements.
  • Objective 2: Increase the representation of all HPM programs in the Health Policy and Management Alumni Association (HPMAA).
  • Objective 3: Ensure ongoing curriculum relevancy with a focus on required courses.
  • Objective 4: Optimize student ability to help tailor educational experience to meet career goals/interests with a focus on elective courses.
  • Objective 5: Enhance HPM culture and community engagement across programs.
Goal 3 Objectives 

Goal Statement: Support the conduct of sustainable, partnered research with diverse communities and organizations. 

  • Objective 1: Understand and expand the benefits and depth of current and existing partnership relationships.
  • Objective 2: Establish opportunities for training and research that leverage existing partnerships.
  • Objective 3: Value and recognize mission-driven collaboration with community-based organizations, government agencies and other key stakeholders. 
  • Objective 4: Collaborate to improve access to large, real-world data among health sciences students, staff and faculty.

Goal Statement: Create real-world impact through our graduates, educational programs, and research. 

  • Objective 1: Share successes of students, faculty, staff, and alumni, amplify community voices and affect policy change.
