Julie Donohue
Dr. Julie Donohue

Julie Donohue, PhD is a professor and chair of the Department of Health Policy and Management.

Dr. Donohue’s research focuses on insurance coverage, financing, and delivery of health care with a focus on use of prescription drugs and behavioral health services. She has studied the impact of policy changes on access, quality and costs in Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance and is currently conducting epidemiologic, economic and policy research for state Medicaid programs with a focus on Pennsylvania.

In addition to her research, Dr. Donohue is an associate editor at JAMA Health Forum and in 2017 helped launch the Medicaid Outcomes Distributed Research Network (MODRN) with AcademyHealth. MODRN is a network of 12 state-university partnerships that conducts multi-state analyses to inform state Medicaid programs and aims to improve quality and equity in health care delivery to Medicaid members.
