What's happening at HSLS

Accessibility compliance

HSLS is committed to ensuring our resources are accessible to all students, staff, and faculty. All materials we create and either distribute or link to must meet the University's accessibility standards.

  • PowerPoints, Word documents, and PDFs must be compliant if distributed.
  • All HSLS LibGuides will be switched over to an accessible template in early December.
  • Videos must have closed captioning.

Falk Library

The Falk Library construction has continued over the summer and into the fall. I haven't seen it yet, but I've been told the changes to the space are quite significant.

  • Hours through fall semester: 7:00 am to 6:00 pm
  • # of people allowed: This will depend on COVID safety restrictions. See the Library update page for more information: https://www.hsls.pitt.edu/covid-19

HSLS Classes

We continue to offer HSLS classes, all via Zoom. A list of our classes can be found at:

Contact the course instructor about availability to schedule an offering for your class.

New classes include:

Data services

Do you have a funded project or are you working on seeking funding? Do you need to write data management or data sharing plan? Have you incorporated the FAIR Data Sharing Principles into your project? Or maybe you would like a data expert to come to your class and talk about version control? Look no further than the Data Services class offerings: https://www.hsls.pitt.edu/data-services/classes-and-training
