Strategic Priorities

  1. One Health: Promote interdisciplinary collaboration to combat zoonotic diseases and play a key role in the development of One Health strategies that drive policy changes at the national and international levels.
  2. Emerging and Vector-Borne Infectious Diseases: Publish influential research on emerging and vector borne-pathogens, develop innovative prevention strategies, and contribute to reducing disease burden in vulnerable populations.
  3. HIV and Tuberculosis (TB): Become a recognized center of excellence for HIV and TB research and prevention, generate impactful research outcomes, foster innovative prevention strategies, and contribute to measurable public health outcomes.
  4. Climate Change and Global Health: Conduct groundbreaking research on the impact of climate change on infectious diseases and influence policies and interventions that enhance resilience and adaptation to climate-related health challenges.
  5. Pandemic Prevention and Preparedness: Enhance pandemic preparedness by developing early detection systems, novel surveillance approaches, and strong partnerships with public health agencies.
