"Mike was absolutely devoted to human genetics and to our students. He played a role in the education of every student in the department, whether it was teaching them to analyze their data, teaching them about the most exciting new discoveries in the field at the department's journal club, or just talking to them about genetics, philosophy, and life at the department retreat at Pymatuning."
