Hexin Lu, a second-year PhD student mentored by Peter Di, presented a poster titled "The Dual Role of TLR2 in Lung Cancer: Promoting Early Tumor Growth and Modulating Inflammation and Differentiation in KRAS Mutant Mice".
Lu's findings shed light on the complex role of Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2) in lung cancer, one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Her research demonstrated that TLR2 promotes early tumor growth but regulates inflammation and differentiation in later stages, highlighting its dual role in lung cancer progression and its potential as a therapeutic target.
