Dr. Jiebiao Wang Secures R21 Grant to Explore Genetic Diversity and Mediation Mechanisms

Dr. Jiebiao Wang has been awarded a two-year R21 grant from the National Institute on Aging, titled "Heterogeneous Genetic Effects and Mediation in Alzheimer's Disease" (R21AG087057), with a total amount of $418,795. This grant focuses on developing innovative statistical methods to estimate heterogeneous genetic effects and mediation mechanisms varying across individuals. The application was adapted from the CTSI Public Health Trans-Disciplinary Collaboration Pilot award and was pursued by a collaborative team that included secondary faculty members, Drs. Victor Talisa and Xu Qin, as multiple principal investigators. Together, they will advance statistical methodologies to better understand the genetic underpinnings of Alzheimer's disease.
