On April 17, a reception was convened to express congratulations to our students and appreciation to our faculty and staff who devote their time and expertise in training the next generation of infection preventionists.
Several courses, developed in 2017 by Dr. Linda Rose Frank, Dr. Mohamed Yassin, Dr. Graham Snyder, and Heather Dixon, expanded in class size and in the number of available on-site internships at UPMC facilities.
These courses have resulted in new opportunities for graduates from the departments of infectious diseases and epidemiology to be hired in infection prevention positions all over the United States.
We are grateful to the support of UPMC as our partner in this initiative which serves as a model for academic collaboration and improved workforce development for public health and healthcare systems!
