Contributions to Public Health

My research focuses on neurological pathologies, with an emphasis on exploring the intricate pathways that regulate gene expression associated with these conditions. To gain a comprehensive understanding, I utilize a diverse array of models, including mice, cell cultures, and human subjects. This multi-faceted approach allows me to gather valuable insights from different perspectives and biological systems.

A significant aspect of my work involves the development of therapeutic strategies aimed at alleviating symptoms of neurodegenerative diseases. By delving deeply into the study of signaling pathways and gene regulation at both the RNA and protein levels, I strive to uncover the fundamental mechanisms that drive these disorders.

Understanding these pathways is crucial, as it can lead to the identification of new targets for therapeutic intervention and contribute to the creation of more effective treatments. My research not only aims to enhance our knowledge of the genetic and molecular basis of neurological diseases but also aspires to translate these findings into tangible benefits for patients, ultimately improving their quality of life.

Some of my most significant contributions to the field include several groundbreaking discoveries. Firstly, I linked two different alleles to previously undescribed illnesses, expanding our understanding of genetic variability and disease manifestation. Secondly, I discovered a potential treatment for ALS, which could offer new hope for patients suffering from this debilitating condition. Lastly, I identified a silencer element that produces ADLD pathology, providing crucial insights into the mechanisms behind this disorder. These contributions have not only advanced our knowledge of these specific diseases but also opened new avenues for research and therapeutic development.
