The primary focus of my research is physical activity, sedentary behavior, and health. I am particularly interested in the role(s) of physical activity and sedentary behavior in prevention efforts for type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. In my current work I am utilizing patient/provider-centered approaches to improve integration of activity referral within clinical care settings.
I am also interested in developing better methods for utilizing activity monitor data within clinical settings. In relation to this, I have worked with many researchers to develop strategies for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data from activity questionnaires and body worn activity monitors.
