Dr. Andriy Bandos’s primary research interests include the statistical evaluation of classification and prediction performance, biomarker development and evaluation, diagnostic imaging, observer-performance studies, methodology for assessment of detection-localization accuracy. A major focus of his collaborative work has been in the design and analysis of retrospective and prospective studies of diagnostic technologies for medical imaging. His methodological research contributed to the fields of statistical evaluation of detection and classification performance, ROC analysis, design and analysis of multi-reader (MRMC) studies, free-response ROC (FROC) methodology, nonparametric methods, and resampling approaches in statistics. The methodological developments stemmed from the collaborative work and aimed to address questions frequently arising in practice.
