Using Systems Science to Improve Collective Action in Public Health: The Case of Community Coalitions and Childhood Obesity

Presenter Travis R. Moore is a postdoctoral scholar in the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University. Blending systems science and community-based research, he studies how collaborative initiatives create and sustain changes in local policies and practices to improve health. Currently, he is using social network simulation to study the coevolution of coalition network structure and adoption of evidence-based childhood obesity prevention strategies.

Sponsored by the Department of Behavioral and Community Health Sciences and the Center for Social Dynamics and Community Health.
