Dean's Day 2021 Doctoral Category Winners

Congratulations to the following students for winning the Outstanding Poster by a Doctoral Student award at this year's Dean's Day poster competition.

First place: Alexander Layden (EPI '20), Pre-pregnancy BMI associated with placental dysfunction in early but not late preterm birth
Abstract                       Poster

Second place: Alexander Sundermann (EPI '22), Whole Genome Sequencing Surveillance and Electronic Health Record Machine Learning for Enhanced Hospital Outbreak Detection; Presented with Praveen Kumar (work to be published shortly). 

Third place: Tianyu Zou (HUGEN '22), Genome-wide survival analysis of dental caries incidence

Dean's Day is an annual student research competition. Students present their research during multiple poster sessions while faculty members judge presentations for prizes and students evaluate posters for Grand Rounds credit. The Dean invites selected presenters to give oral presentations of their work during the awards ceremony.
