The Center for Public Health Practice Award for Translation and Application of Research to Public Health Policy and Practice is for work that contributes insight and understanding to public health policy and practice. This year's award went to Praveen Kumar (HPM '21) and Alexander Sundermann (EPI '22). Their work won't be featured here due to confidentiality of the data.
The Catherine Cartier Ulrich Memorial Award for Service to the Underserved has been a Pitt Public Health scholarship for several years now, created in the memory of this former student to award work with the underserved. This award is typically given to one doctoral student and one master’s student and is an example of how a public health student can benefit our communities while honoring Catherine’s dream of improving the lives of underserved populations. This is the sixth year that this award has been given in conjunction with Dean’s Day.

Dean's Day is an annual student research competition. Students present their research during multiple poster sessions while faculty members judge presentations for prizes and students evaluate posters for Grand Rounds credit. The Dean invites selected presenters to give oral presentations of their work during the awards ceremony.
