Seeking student volunteers for UPMC Junior Health Care Explorers program

The Center for Health Equity is seeking 2-4 Pitt Public Health student volunteers to develop and facilitate an interactive workshop on public health for a cohort of 6-8th grade students. Sponsored by UPMC, the Junior Health Care Explorers session will be virtual and held on two Saturdays, January 23 and February 6, from 10-11:30 a.m.

Interested students should contact Lora Ann Bray to volunteer.

UPMC's program aims to tell middle school students that they have what it takes to be a health care hero. UPMC and Pitt want to help students learn more about all the ways theycan help others and change the world through an exciting career in health care. Students will learn, ask questions, and get a hands-on look at what it’s like to work in the health sciences!

Junior Health Care Explorers is a no-cost program with virtual sessions featuring workshops from all six health sciences programs, connection with current Pitt graduate students, professional life coach discussions, and work on goal setting and career visioning. Parents and caregivers can also attend their own trauma and child career support sessions.
