Congratulations to Yichen Jia (BIOST ’22, front-left) and Peng Liu (BIOST '16 '21, front-right), this year’s winners of the national ENAR Distinguished Paper Award. The two doctoral students will present their award-winning work at the International Biometric Society's Eastern North American Region (ENAR) Spring Meeting in Nashville, March 22–25.
Liu is advised by George C. Tseng and will present “Outcome-Guided Disease Subtyping for High-Dimensional Omics Data.” Jia is advised by Jong H. Jeong and will present “Quantile Regression on Cause-specific Inactivity Time.”
Up to twenty Distinguished Student Paper Awards are given each year to assist top students from across the country in presenting contributed papers at the ENAR Spring Meeting one of the United States' largest professional gatherings of biostatisticians.
Each winner receives a certificate, reimbursement for travel expenses up to $650, tuition waiver for one ENAR short course of choice, and an invitation to the ENAR President's Reception. Pitt Biostatistics students are consistently listed among the winners at ENAR.
