Funding Opportunity with American Diabetes Association Pathway Program


American Diabetes Association Pathway Program The University of Pittsburgh may nominate one investigator for the American Diabetes Association (ADA) Pathway Program. There are three tracks to this program, the Initiator Award Program, the Accelerator Award Program, and the Visionary Award Program. The Initiator Award Program provides “salary and research support for applicants during late stages of mentored training through establishment as independent research faculty.” The Accelerator Award Program is directed at early career researchers in independent faculty positions. The Visionary Award Program is directed at “established, experienced investigators with strong records of outstanding productivity in fields outside of diabetes who are interested in applying their considerable skills and expertise to diabetes research.” Seehttp://professional.diabetes.org/Diabetes_Research.aspx?typ=18&cid=93655#INI_Award for details. Applications are due to the ADA on July 1, 2015. Anyone interested in being considered as the University’s nominee for this program must submit the following to Dr. Michelle Broido, Associate Vice Chancellor for Biomedical Research, by noon on Tuesday, March 10: Identification of the program for which the investigator would like to be considered, the investigator’s CV or NIH biosketch, and a brief (no more than one page) description of the proposed research. If the investigator would like to be considered for the Initiator Award Program, a nomination letter from his or her faculty mentor is also required.
