GSPH Faculty Played Key Role in 11 of 54 Papers Cited in Two Hundred Years of Cancer Research

Pitt’s Graduate School of Public Health Department of Biostatistics faculty played a key roll in 11 of 54 papers cited in a recent overview of contributions made in the last 200 years in papers published in The New England Journal of Medicine.

In Vince DeVita’s and Steve Rosenberg’s review “Two Hundred Years of Cancer Research”, 20 percent of the papers cited came from Pitt.  These important papers spanning the years 1975 to 2007 were led by Bernier Fisher of the School of Medicine and at least one member of our faculty was a major contributor to each paper.
