Doctoral student Thistle Elias (BCHS '12) has received the Silverman Scholarship for 2011. This scholarship was established to support a doctoral student with the Department of Behavioral and Community Health Sciences in their degree studies. Her hope is that this work will not only contribute to the broader field of public health but also assist local and other organizations in their advocacy and intervention efforts on behalf of children, ultimately benefiting the communities and families served.
