The Pitt Trauma & Emergency League (PTEL) is a group of public health, nursing, medical, undergraduate emergency medicine and pre-health students. 

Sally Morton elected member of ISI

Dr. Sally Morton has been elected a member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI). She joins fellow department members Dr. Jong Jeong and Dr. George Tseng in this honor. 

Dr. Mitch Gail Visits Department of Biostatistics

Dr. Mitch Gail, Senior Investigator in the Biostatistics Branch Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics at the National Cancer Institute visited our department on October 23.

Pitt Public Health Biostatistics Expert Appointed to National Organization Formed to Provide Better Health Care Information

Sally C. Morton, Ph.D., chair of the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health’s Department of Biostatistics, has been appointed to the Methodology Committee of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO).  

Dr. Kaleab Abebe Presented With Chancellor's Affirmative Action Award

Dr. Kaleab Abebe was presented with one of two annual Chancellor's Affirmative Action Awards on behalf of CEED, a program that helps underrepresented groups pursue academic careers.  

Statistician of the Year Abdus Wahed Profiled in the Tribune Review

Department of Biostatistics faculty member and recent Statistician of the Year award winner Abdus Wahed was recently recognized as a Newsmaker by the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.  

Department Members Participate in Women in Statistics Conference
