As the inaugural talk in our Social Dynamics & Community Health Speaker Series, the Center for Social Dynamics and Community Health and the Department of Behavioral and Community Health Sciences present Dr. Kar-Hai Chu of Pitt's Center for Research on Media, Technology, and Health speaking on "Social Networks and Health"

Chu’s interdisciplinary training has focused on applying innovative technology to health science research. His current projects use social network analysis (SNA) to support public health.  As part of this presentation, he will discuss how SNA can be used in various health studies, including exploratory, surveillance, and interventions. Chu's recent work includes analyses of social media networks to study the marketing and use of electronic cigarettes.
