Cycle Series: A trans masculine experience of menstruation - Short film premiere & panel discussion

Thursday 10/24 6:00PM - 7:30PM
Frick Fine Arts Auditorium

A short film premiere and panel discussion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) health complexities.

Cycle Series is a collection of short films created to explore a myriad of menstrual experiences from a public health perspective, and ones that are frequently overlooked. Often when we think about menstruation, a certain type of person comes to mind; but as these films reveal, experiences of menstruation and reproductive health are nuanced.

This second film in the series explores a transmasculine experience of menstruation from the perspective of Pittsburgh musician, Jude Benedict. Jude discusses the intersection of gender identity and reproductive and menstrual health.

Panel members include healthcare providers, public health researchers, diversity and inclusion representatives, and members of the LGBT community. The goal of this event is to discuss LGBT health and well-being and to mark national LGBT History Month in conjuntion with Pitt Public Health's Center for LGBT Health Research and Pitt's Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
