Advanced Faculty Leadership Academy to transform academic leaders

Hosted by the Office of Academic Career Development, the Advanced Faculty Leadership Academy is a year-long professional development program for mid-career and senior faculty members designed to cultivate transformative academic leaders through shared leadership training. In contrast to the traditional authoritative model of leadership, the concept of “shared leadership” emphasizes leadership that is broadly distributed among team members based upon the skills and experience of each individual member. This program will help you develop a personal leadership style that influences, empowers, and produces productive team performance that supports organizational success.

Mid-career or senior faculty members with a primary or secondary appointment in the University of Pittsburgh Schools of the Health Sciences (Dental Medicine, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, and Health and Rehabilitation) in basic science research, clinical investigation, translational research, or clinical education are encouraged to apply.

Applications are due by December 21, 2018.

The programs will run Tuesday, January 29, 2019 - Tuesday, December 10, 2019 in the S100 Starzl Biomedical Science Tower.
