Center for Health Equity participates in Pitt Park(ing) Day

image
Park(ing) Day is an annual one-day event held on the third Friday of September. The concept is to take an urban parking space, an otherwise dead space in an otherwise busy urban landscape, and turn it into a pop-up installation for a day.

The event raises awareness about the importance of a livable city and helps people re-think how our streets can be utilized. Rebar, and art and design studio based in San Francisco, started the concept in 2005, and it is now an internationally celebrated day, with over 100 parking spaces transformed worldwide.
