Facilities Update: New proximity readers installed for access to freezer rooms

The University is switching security readers from a swipe reader to a proximity reader.  The ease of the proximity readers is that your Pitt card need only be held up to the reader for the signal to turn green and the doors release. This will be done on a slow roll out until further notice.  Only new and additional readers at this point will be the proximity readers.

The new freezers on the ground floor (G003H and G003A) will be locked down starting April 11th and only those with access and the new cards with the proximity function can enter. Please check if you have freezers located in these rooms to confirm if you can enter.  Most individuals at the Graduate School of Public Health have updated cards with the proximity portion activated.

If you should be able to enter the freezer rooms and cannot, please contact your departmental administrator.

Thank you,
