Steven M. Albert of Pitt Public Health has been appointed deputy editor-in-chief for Innovation in Aging, a new peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal launched by the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) -- the nation's largest interdisciplinary organization devoted to the field of aging. Published by Oxford University Press (OUP), Innovation in Aging will publish methodologically rigorous, translational research on aging and the life course.  It joins the GSA catalog's distinguished collection of high impact factor titles including The Gerontologist and The Journals of Gerontology.

Albert holds the Philip B. Hallen Endowed Chair in Community Health and Social Justice at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health and serves as professor and chair in the school's Department of Behavioral and Community Health Sciences. He joins fellow deputy editor-in-chief, J. Jill Suitor of the Purdue University Department of Sociology and editor-in-chief Laura P. Sands of the Center for Gerontology and professor of human development at Virginia Tech.
