Personal Statement

My research addresses the role of the placenta in the fetal origins of health and disease generally. Specifically, I am interested in the effects of endocrine disrupting chemicals on placental contributions to fetal development. We employ in vitro models of the early term placenta using undifferentiated and differentiated cell types, and estimate associations using biomarkers of placental function at the population level, tissue level markers, and data collected in the clinic and through research surveys.
