Dr. Drake is a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management, Graduate School of Public Health, at the University of Pittsburgh. His research interests include health insurance markets, geospatial barriers to health care, and microsimulation methods. His dissertation examined the role of provider network breadth in plan choice in California’s State-based Marketplace, Covered California. Dr. Drake’s research has been published in leading health economics and health policy journals, such as The American Journal of Health Economics and Health Affairs. Dr. Drake was a 2017-2018 Health Economics Fellow at the Becker Friedman Institute at the University of Chicago, and a trainee under the Agency for Health Research and Quality National Research Services Awards grant program from 2013 to 2017. In 2018, he completed a Ph.D. in health services research, policy and administration with a focus in health economics from the University of Minnesota.
