Preparing for your Interview

The interview: a critical phase of your job search

Your resume or CV and cover letter are simply tools to get you to the interviewing stage. Keep in mind that employers don't tend to interview candidates they don't feel are qualified for the job. Therefore, once you have made it past the initial screening, interviewing is your opportunity to convince an employer that you are the right person for the job. While it is important to highlight your skills and abilities, it is equally important not to misrepresent who you are or what you can or are willing to do.
