2011 Pittsburgh Allderdice High School graduate, Scott Stern spent spent six years researching the systematic imprisonment of women in America under the guise of safeguarding public healt culminating in the release of “The Trials of Nina McCall: Sex, Surveillance, and the Decades-Long Government Plan to Imprison ‘Promiscuous’ Women” (Beacon Press). Stern will discuss his research and it's ties to the mixed legacy of Pitt Public Health's founding dean, Thomas Parran.
